I debuted as a playwright in 1995, winning the drama category of the Busan Ilbo Sinchunmunye (부산일보 신춘문예), the New Year competition Korean newspapers use to launch new writers. My collection of plays, 천국으로 배달해 드립니다, was published by Inu Communication in 2002 (ISBN 89-952257-1-8), and I have written and adapted work staged by the Busan Metropolitan Theatre Company.
Three decades and a hundred-plus dramas later, I still read K-dramas the way I read a script — structure, pacing, and the cultural detail most reviews walk past.
